Good location - bad standard of build
Location, not much construction.
Bad build quality, small rooms, old air con.
Moved to Dubai only 4 months ago. Chose the Springs as it was one of the more 'finished' communities. We are already planning to leave when the yet is up, if not before. The location is great, it's so easy to get out of the community via Asayel Street, hardly more… ever any bad traffic. There's no road noise, fairly quiet place to live. We have a garden twice the size of an average Springs garden due to the plot we're on which is a bonus. That's about the only good points. The villas are old and rarely taken care of. The air conditioning smells bad, and is dirty. Maintenance company aren't responsible for cleaning this apparently, and the landlord doesn't care. Cupboards etc falling apart in kitchen and bathrooms. Seals on doors old and worn away (or never existed), so huge gaps under and around outside doors. Very small villas, for the price. Can get so much more for your money elsewhere (hindsight is a great thing) Cannot drill into walls and it's a struggle to even get a picture hanging - it's like there's metal sheets in the walls (this affects the wifi signal too - have never lived anywhere where you need one router per room) Can't use the bath as the plug broke, and to fix it would involve breaking numerous tiles to get underneath the bath, then replacing. Drain in downstairs WC, cupboard and kitchen smell like rotting animals, no amount of bleach or call-outs to maintenance fixes this. Town Centre is good as it has a grocery store, pharmacy etc, however with thousands of residents in the Springs and only around 60 parking spaces there, it's stressful to say the least. Look elsewhere - Springs is in dire need of a refurb after years of papering over cracks. Show less

Living in Springs
Safety, neighbors, pool and making the house your own.
Maintenance
The Springs Community gives people with a lower budget a chance to live in a villa within a community. Although the villas are smaller, they are perfect for a family of 3 or less. The community is very safe and the guards at the gates are very friendly. I have more… lived in Springs 9 for almost 4 years now and I've never had too much trouble. I have a corner plot villa, which means I'm on a road, but not a main one, so the noise isn't too bad. There is a nice community pool, with a basketball court and a play area for kids. It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk to the nearest shopping centre (Spinneys - town centre), which includes gyms and restaurants. It is also a good community because there are always many taxis around so you never have to wait. The only issue is that sometimes there can be problems with the air conditioning, but as long as you find a good maintenance company, you are good to go.Show less
