Wasl Port Views Overview
The master plan by KEO International Consultants covers an area of 8.5 Hectares (21 acres), of which 153,000 square meters will be residential development, 18,000 square meters office space, 12,500 square meters retail space and 73,000 square meters for hospitality uses, along with a public open space and a community mosque.
The idea is to regenerate the existing underutilized site by creating an attractive public realm in this rapidly transforming area of Dubai by the use of mid-rise buildings designed in both contemporary and vernacular architecture combined with a variety of land uses and active street life.
The community is accessible and walkable, with a clear grid of internal roadways and a series of pedestrian paths (Sikka) between plots, with all footways leading to the heart of the project, the centrally located community park and mosque.
At the project’s launch in August 2016 Wasl announced that Port Views will include 1,477 residential units of various sizes and areas, in addition to several retail stores and restaurants, and that once completed, the project will also provide the market with three mid-range hotels, which will add more than 528 rooms and serviced apartments to the hospitality sector ahead of Expo 2020.
