Wasl Gate Overview
Wasl Gate is a huge new development in the Jebel Ali district of Dubai, close to Energy metro station.
The freehold master development contains apartments, townhouses, businesses, restaurants and shops. The retail centre, Festival Plaza mall by Al Futtaim, has new IKEA and ACE stores, the first in the south of Dubai.
The first two residential developments, The Nook and Gardenia Townhomes, are being built (as of April 2019)
There are two apartment buildings at The Nook containing studios and one- two- and three-bedroom flats. Their amenities include a swimming pool, gym and children’s play area, all surrounded by lush greenery.
Gardenia Townhomes have either three or four bedrooms and come with two covered parking places. Amenities include a community centre, swimming pool, community gym and children’s play area.
Wasl Gate Amenities
The surrounding area has a central park, a dog park, water features, play areas and stores like IKEA, ACE and a new Festival Plaza Mall.
Wasl Gate lies beside Sheikh Zayed Road and alongside the Energy Metro Station. Al Maktoum International Airport and the Expo 2020 site are about 20 minutes’ drive away.
The first 200 Gardenia Townhomes were completed in 2018.
The IKEA store is due to open by the end of 2019.
The masterplan, which covers an area of 15 million square feet, may take many years to realise, but once completed it will be a fully self-contained city.
Wasl Gate will include a large park as well as offices, shops, hotels, apartments and villas. The central theme of the city is innovation and there will be a dedicated centre to attract and encourage young innovators to practice their work.
The city will feature a central 'Ibdaa Square' which will host exhibitions and events based on innovation and ideas.
