Uptown Tower is one of Uptown Dubai’s two super tall towers that anchor the ten million sq ft development.
It contains 188 luxury hotel rooms and suites, high-end restaurants, health spas, conference facilities, grade A offices, and 229 uniquely designed branded residences.
Uptown Tower’s architecture was conceptualized by Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture. Adrian Smith designed the Burj Khalifa while he was Design Partner at SOM Chicago.
The building ‘replicates the brilliance of diamonds through its faceted glass façade that illuminates the interior spaces with natural light while filtering out harsh glare’.
The interiors of the luxury hotel, including the restaurants and health spa, were designed by New York based architecture and design firm Rockwell Group.
A two-level central plaza on the podium includes coffee shops, restaurants, retail spaces and entertainment zones.
Rockwell Group’s scope of work included the design of the super tall tower’s first premium 5-Star hotel and branded residences, which went on sale in early 2018.
The contract to build Uptown Tower, the first super-tall tower in Uptown Dubai district, was awarded to BESIX (Belhasa Six Construct).
The super-tall is a LEED Gold Certified Building and home to a state-of-the-art DMCC Business Hub.
By January 2022 the developer announced that nearly 25% of the commercial space had been pre-leased.
During the tower's construction, over 23,000 trucks delivered approximately 140,000 cubic metres of concrete, with around 30,000 tonnes of steel used for reinforcement.
In mid 2022 the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the world’s leading authority on diamonds, coloured stones and pearls, announced that it is to establish a new laboratory to serve the global gem trade in Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC).
The GIA laboratory will occupy over 41,000 square feet on two floors in Uptown Tower in a nine-year deal. It is set to open in mid-2023 and would see up to 500 skilled new jobs created in DMCC’s business district.
The UAE is currently the world’s largest rough diamond trading hub, recording $11 billion worth of rough and polished diamond trade in Q1 2022, a 36 percent year-on-year increase.
As of August 2022 all of the office floors have been fully leased, prior to the towers completion.
In February 2023, sales were launched for the residential component, which comprises 227 signature branded residences on the top 28 floors.
The SO/ Uptown Dubai Residences range from one-beds to penthouses. There are 142 one-bedroom units ranging from 627–1,186 square feet; 60 two-bedroom units from 1,038–1,669 square feet; 12 two-bedroom duplexes from 1,595–2,061 square feet; 9 three-bedroom residences of 1,513–1,908 square /feet; and 4 penthouses of 2,993–3,345 square feet.
From Uptown Tower it takes roughly 18 minutes to drive to Dubai Mall, 10 minutes to Palm Jumeirah, 15 minutes to Burj Al Arab and 10 minutes to The Walk JBR.*
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 26 minutes' drive and the new Al Maktoum International Airport is roughly 29 minutes' drive.*

Uptown Tower has many schools nearby including Emirates International School Meadows at 1.5 km and Dubai British School Jumeirah Park at 2.6 km.
In terms of performance there are seven schools nearby that have achieved either of two highest government inspection rating of 'Very Good' or 'Outstanding' including Dubai British School Emirates Hills which has a rating of 'Outstanding' and Emirates International School Meadows which has a rating of 'Very good'.
