The Storm Coaster is an indoor rollercoaster, the first of its kind, located alongside the Dubai Hills mall.
A specialised power system propels the coaster 50 metres vertically in 5 seconds with a vertical magnetic launch system.
The 670-metre track is extremely complex geometrically, as it rotates on all axes throughout the entire building.
Before the ride visitors enjoy a 360-degree pre-show experience as they are lifted high above the Dubai skyline. Then they are plunged into the heart of the story as an epic mega-storm, created with real-world footage and cinematic special effects, rages all around.
Extensive parametric modelling was used from the pre-concept stage, allowing the optimisation of all aspects of design while working faster and even more effectively.
Over 4km of LEDs were programmed to create a customisable thematic show, synced with the coaster.
From The Storm Coaster it takes roughly 16 minutes to drive to Dubai Mall, 14 minutes to Palm Jumeirah, 11 minutes to Burj Al Arab and 18 minutes to The Walk JBR.*
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 21 minutes' drive and the new Al Maktoum International Airport is roughly 32 minutes' drive.*
The map below shows the location of The Storm Coaster and just below are summaries of the nearest attractions, parks, beaches, golf clubs and cinemas.

Projects often go through a number of design revisions as they progress and developers may or may not honour their original plans when it comes to architectural designs, amenities and landscaping. The images below are provided as a means to compare the original plans with the realised development.
Propsearch.ae is a Dubai property portal that hosts ads from a number of local real estate agencies. In addition we offer a comprehensive set of community and building guides to help property buyers, renters and investors learn about the areas and buildings that they may wish to live or invest in.
Any enquiries sent regarding a specific property go directly to the estate agent that advertised the property and Propsearch does not play any role in any transactions that may result. Enquires that are sent directly to Propsearch are forwarded to a trusted partner agency that is best suited to handle the enquiry.
Please note that whilst we have a large database of buildings and developments, Propsearch is not a property developer, nor an agent, nor an architect, nor a construction contractor.
