Sheikh Zayed Road
Sheikh Zayed Road is the main highway (E11) that runs through the UAE from Abu Dhabi in the south west to Ras Al Khaimah in the north east.
In Dubai real estate terms ‘Sheikh Zayed Road’ generally refers to the 2km stretch between Business Bay and the World Trade Centre roundabout, characterised by walls of skyscrapers on either side of the road. This is the centre of the business district and home to some of Dubai’s most valuable properties.
Notable buildings along Sheikh Zayed Road include Sama Tower, Park Place and the supertall Blue Tower.
If you like to live over the shop then Sheikh Zayed Road is for you. Most office towers contain residential apartments, many of which come fully furnished and serviced, and have gyms and roof top swimming pools.
In between the commercial buildings you’ll find a clutch of five star hotels including the The Fairmont Dubai, the Conrad, the H Hotel and the Sheraton Four Points.
Transport & Access
From Sheikh Zayed Road it takes roughly 4 minutes to drive to Dubai Mall, 16 minutes to Palm Jumeirah, 15 minutes to Burj Al Arab and 20 minutes to The Walk JBR.*
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 28 minutes' drive and the new Al Maktoum International Airport is roughly 40 minutes' drive.*
The journey time by road to the Dubai Mall or Downtown Dubai is 5 minutes, to Dubai Marina 20, to the International Airport 28, and to Abu Dhabi 1hour 30.
If you live here you’ll probably have someone call you a taxi or deliver your car to the front door when you want to get out and about. But you could take the train if you fancy the exercise. The metro runs alongside Sheikh Zayed Road with three stations to choose from, Financial Centre, Emirates Towers and World Trade Centre.
By metro from World Trade Centre station it’ll take 35 minutes to Dubai Marina or 20 to Dubai International Airport.
