Emaar’s Reem project is located in DubaiLand on the south side of Emirates Road (E611) opposite Town Square Dubai on Al Qudra Road.

Reem is one of the first gated communities in Dubai to house a large central park. It is also planned to include camping facilities, sand surfing, and camel riding trails.

The master-development includes several residential communities, the first two of which, Mira and Mira Oasis, have been completed. Mira has 1,582 townhouses and Mira Oasis has 1,350 three- and four-bedroom townhouses.

It is worth pointing out that Reem’s next door neighbour is the Al Minhad Air Base.

Mira

The Mira townhouses, which come in four different types, are designed with a focus on spacious comfort with spacious balconies, driveways, courtyards and wooden fittings and fixtures.

At the heart of the development is a central park with interactive fountains and walkways. There will also be a large botanical park showcasing the region’s diverse flora.

Mria Oasis

Mira Oasis is the newer of the sub-communities, located to the north side of the Reem development. There are currently 3 sectors, each with its own community parks, pools and sports facilities. The townhouses are all recently completed.

 


Transport & Access

Commute times by car

From Reem it takes roughly 26 minutes to drive to Dubai Mall, 24 minutes to Palm Jumeirah, 22 minutes to Burj Al Arab and 27 minutes to The Walk JBR.*

Airport proximity

Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 38 minutes' drive and the new Al Maktoum International Airport is roughly 28 minutes' drive.*

Road access

Reem is situated at the cross-roads of Al Qudra and Emirates Road. It is also in close proximity to the Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club and Global Village, and just over 20 minutes from Downtown Dubai and the Dubai International Airport.

It is presently a 25 minute drive from Dubai Marina, although getting in and out of Reem may add to the journey time.

Amenities

The Reem project is all about nature and the outdoor life, which is just as well considering how remote this place is. The developer has therefore included a menu of outdoor amenities to encourage people to come and live here. Brave hearts are promised a desert botanical park, camping facilities, sand surfing and camel riding trails, a go karting track, dune buggies, a rock climbing wall and a skate park.

Mira Town Center shopping mall has a good selection of retailers and a Spinneys supermarket.

Also within the neighbourhood (some planned and not yet delivered) are a residents’ club, restaurants and cafes, nurseries and primary schools, dedicated jogging and bicycle paths, a cricket pitch, several football fields, a miniature golf course, and an amphitheatre outdoor cinema.

Beyond Reem and not too far away are the Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, and Global Village.

Projects often go through a number of design revisions as they progress and developers may or may not honour their original plans when it comes to architectural designs, amenities and landscaping. The images below are provided as a means to compare the original plans with the realised development.

Reem History

Reem was launched by Emaar Properties in April 2013, a modern desert oasis community that ‘draws on the soothing comfort of a traditional desert oasis’ and ‘redefines leisurely living.’

The project promised ‘a full-fledged lifestyle community’ featuring an exclusive desert botanical park, camping facilities, sand surfing, camel riding trails, go kart track, dune buggies, rock climbing wall, a skate park, a sweeping central park, interactive fountains, walkways and a centrepiece water feature.

Amenities within the neighbourhood would include mosques, a central park, retail plaza, residents' club, restaurants and cafés, nurseries and primary schools, dedicated jogging and bicycle paths, a cricket pitch and several football fields, a miniature golf course and an outdoor amphitheatre cinema.

The first phase launched was Mira 1, comprising 188 Mediterranean-style three-bedroom townhouses.

Right from the start it drew enormous investor interest, so much so that on the sales launch day fights broke out as security struggled to control the huge crowds. All units sold out that day.

In March 2014 the main construction contract for all 1,582 townhouses, worth AED 1.037 billion, was won by Arabtech. Construction was swift and the first phase was completed in 2016, only a few months after the original estimated handover date.

In June 2016 an AED 1 billion contract was awarded to M/S Trojan General contracting to build Mira Oasis townhouses.

In 2018 residents became concerned as some of the external rendering weakened and pieces were crumbling and falling into the gardens. Repairs were soon carried out by Emaar on the affected properties.

Construction History

Construction work began in the first quarter of 2014 and the project was completed between 2016 and 2020.
