Motor City Overview
Motor City is in Dubai Land and close to Arabian Ranches. The development comprises two residential areas and a business park set around a Formula 1 race track. A theme park that was part of the original master plan has been scrapped.
Here you can live in an apartment in one of the low and medium rise buildings in Up Town Motor City, or in a villa or townhouse in the Green Community. Owing to the size and variety of flats and villas available there is very mixed community of families, couples and singles of all nationalities, apparently living happily side by side.
A new GEMS Metropole School opened in September 2014 for pupils from Foundation Stage up to Year 13.
Several high rise towers in Motor City Business Park provide commercial space for offices and showrooms.
There is a very large Spinneys supermarket as well as a good selection of retailers, banks, pharmacies and opticians. Coffee shops and restaurants are plentiful as well as fast food outlets. First Avenue Mall opened in 2018 with an indoor-outdoor boulevard lined by 70 high street retailers and 15 casual dining restaurants. Attached to the mall is the four-star Park Inn by Radisson hotel.
The shared gardens and pools are well maintained and the area feels very safe with its landscaped gardens, walks, children’s play areas and swimming pools.

Motor City Amenities
As the name implies it helps if you like automobiles if you are thinking of living here, and one of the main attractions is being able to drive cars and motor bikes around Dubai Autodrome or go-karts on the Kartdrome. You can even cycle or walk round the circuit one night a week, but if the smell of fuel oil and burning rubber is not your bag then you can always head off to one of several gyms.
The motor racing calendar is impressive, kicking off each season with the prestigious Hankook Dubai 24H endurance race and including the UAE Sportbike Championship and the NGK Racing Series.
Although there are no licensed restaurants or bars in Motor City there is a lively street cafe atmosphere at night and a good variety of places to eat. For those who like alcohol with their food, restaurants in nearby Arabian Ranches and the Polo Club are always happy to oblige.
In January 2020 The Selfie Kingdom, Dubai’s first ever dedicated selfie museum, opened in Motor City. It has 15 pop-up rooms with different backdrops and props, with professional lighting to capture the very best selfies. The rooms will be changed every few months, and the ‘museum’ will also feature exhibits and installations from various artists, designers and innovators.

Masterplan
In September 2017 Union Properties (UPP) announced a new masterplan for MotorCity with a completed value of more than AED8 billion ($2.18 billion). UPP also signed an agreement with China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) to build the new mega development.
The new masterplan includes 44 new high- and low-rise buildings, more than 150 villas, and a range of residential, commercial, entertainment and hospitality facilities.
That breaks down into more than 11,500 apartments and villas, around 3,000 serviced apartments, 3,500 hotel rooms, a total of 46,000 square metres of retail space and more than 300,000 square metres of office space.
At the heart of the new masterplan is a new design for Union Properties’ Vertex, a mixed-use development with five towers, that will include a five-star hotel and serviced apartments.
