KOA Canvas Overview
Canvas is a project comprising two buildings designed by T.ZED Architects being developed by KOA in Mohammed Bin Rashid City, off Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
KOA is a new company formed in 2016 by Mohammed Zaal, the developer and former CEO of the Al Barari development.
Canvas is KOA’s first project, described as ‘a unique member’s community where like-minded individuals come together to live, work and play.’ It will showcase the developer’s ethos that focuses on ‘enriching lifestyles through a connection to nature, culture and unmatched amenities’.

KOA Canvas Amenities
Promised amenities will include an adult pool, a lap pool, a 25m x 3.3m family pool, paddle tennis courts, day care centre, children’s play area, salon facilities, fitness studio, hot fitness room, steam room, three treatment rooms, a screening room, gourmet market, restaurant and 24-hour security.
Interiors will include brushed oak bedroom flooring, open plan kitchens by Poggenpohl, service kitchens, maid’s rooms, whitewashed timber oak ceilings, open grain white oak front doors, large format brush hammered lava stone kitchen flooring, matt resin flooring, Italian herringbone bathroom tiles, black powder-coated metal finishes, 3.1m high ceilings, full height windows, exposed concrete columns, soft closing cupboards, white quartz counter tops, Bagno design sanitary fittings and single leaf solid frameless flush doors.
When the project was announced in January 2017 the buildings were expected to be completed during 2018, but as of March 2018 there is no sign of construction work.
The complex will house 70 freehold residences, said to be unlike anything available in Dubai and available as studios or one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments.
The 41 bespoke floor plan layouts have each been designed ‘with a new generation of modern residents in mind where functionality, timeless design, distinguished signature details and integrity of materials’.
Surrounding the buildings will be 200,000 sq ft of indigenous landscaped gardens with winding walking trails, water features and open-planted courtyards.
