Jumeirah Islands Area Guide
Jumeirah Islands is a gated housing development located within the wider Emirates Living area. Villas are grouped on 46 small ‘islands', in clusters of 16 surrounded by lakes, water features, and greenery. Each of the 736 houses has its own swimming pool and garden.
The community has its own supermarket, club house and leisure facilities.
The well appointed villas are large with four or five bedrooms, private swimming pools and secluded gardens. They have been designed in six different styles, European, Oasis, Mediterranean, Islamic, Contemporary and Tropical, with up to six façade variants for each style, so that no two villas in any cluster look alike. To add to the variety the interiors may be one of three designs, Entertainment View, Garden Hall View and Master View.
There are also 31 luxury mansions in a separate ‘enclave’ for those who prefer to live in small palaces.
Jumeirah Islands Park
In 2014 work started on a large community centre to provide much needed retail space. The project also includes a number of four bedroom townhouses and apartments in four low rise blocks.
The development is situated at the entrance to Jumeirah Islands and is far away enough not to spoil the tranquillity of the Islands, but close enough for convenience. Some shops and bars have been completed, but work continues on the apartment buildings.
Jumeirah Islands Amenities
The main attraction is the environment itself - no high rise buildings, spacious villas, private gardens, landscaped walkways, grassy playgrounds, cycle paths and jogging trails.
The clubhouse has a licensed restaurant and recreational facilities including a gymnasium, aerobics studio, sauna and steam room, temperature controlled lagoon pool, sundeck facing the lake and children’s outdoor play area.
There are three tennis courts on the Islands and the world-renowned Emirates Golf Club is just around the corner.
The retail provision is not lavish, but does include a Spinneys supermarket and a pharmacy. More retail outlets are under construction.
Nearby medical facilities include Medi Centre located ten minutes away in neighbouring Al Barsha, and the Welcare Ambulatory Care Center in Jebel Ali Village, also ten minutes drive. The nearest hospital with an emergency room is Cedars Jebel Ali International Hospital, a 17 minute drive.
