The building's design is inspired by traditional Islamic architecture and has Arabian style gardens and traditional Arabesque details with parapets and domes.

The Iris Amber project was launched in 2007 by Iris, the Dubai brand of Sheth Estate (International) Ltd, a wholly owned company of the Indian Sheth Group. The development was put on hold in 2009, no doubt due to the prevailing financial situation that delayed many building projects in Dubai. It wasn’t until 2015 that the project was resurrected, with a revised design and under the control of a new developer, Sol Properties.
