Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) is the world’s largest free economic zone for the healthcare industry. It was founded in 2002 and is located on a 38-hectare site in Bur Dubai.
The main purpose behind this dedicated healthcare city is to provide a free economic zone to quality healthcare institutes, and to make it an integrated centre of excellence for clinical and wellness services, medical education and research.
There are more than 160 clinical partners including hospitals, outpatient medical centres, and diagnostic laboratories. Medical and healthcare professionals from more than 90 countries work in this city. It aims to become the largest destination for medical tourists, and a diverse workforce helps in shaping medical tourism in the UAE.
There are two phases of DHCC; Phase 1 is dedicated to healthcare and medical education, and Phase 2 in nearby Al Jaddaf, which is dedicated to wellness.
