Green Community Overview

Green Community is a self-contained residential community in Dubai Investments Park (DIP), which is a mixed-use complex situated near the Jebel Ali industrial area at the intersection of the Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road (E311) and the Jebel Ali - Al Habab Road (D57).

The Community is set in 67 hectares of natural greenery and comprises residential, leisure, retail, and commercial properties. It is far enough from the noise of the city but close enough to good roads, and offers a variety of apartments and villas.

Attractions

For the many Green Community residents who work in DIP, the main attraction is being able to live in a pleasant neighbourhood and not have to battle the traffic to get to work.

Green Community has its own community centre and leisure amenities, providing a choice of fitness clubs, swimming pools, spas and sports facilities. Outside there are also tennis and squash courts, and an amphitheatre for outdoor concerts, plays and other events.

More than ten per cent of land in the Community has been set aside for conservation and greenery, so there are plenty of landscaped parks and waterways.

Shoppers have the choice of two shopping malls. The Market shopping centre in the Green Community has 86 retail units including a supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, banks, gifts, a book shop, a hair salon, a pharmacy, and a medical clinic.

In Ewan Residence, a neighbouring community in DIP another mall, Souk Extra, has 18 shops including a Spinney’s supermarket, a pharmacy, a dry cleaner, and a bureau de change.

Green Community has its own hotel, The Courtyard by Marriott Dubai, and there are two others nearby; the Premier Inn and Armada Hotel.

Six more hotels in DIP are planned in order to cope with the expected rise in demand leading up to the 2020 Dubai Expo the site for which is right next door on the other side of the Al Habab Road.

Travelling Around

Green Community can be easily accessed from both the Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road (E311) and the Sheikh Zayed Road (E11), Dubai’s main thoroughfare.

The proximity of these highways means that travelling to other parts of Dubai is relatively easy. The journey time by road to Jebel Ali is 17 minutes, to Dubai Marina 20 minutes, to the Mall of the Emirates 23 minutes, to the Dubai Mall 26 minutes and to Dubai International Airport 38 minutes. Abu Dhabi is an hour and 10 minutes away.

The nearest metro station is Energy, on the Red line. Two buses, the F46 and the F48, connect Green Community to the metro and other parts of the city.

Living Here

There is a variety of residential options ranging from villas and townhouses to apartments and studios in Green Community Villas, Lake Apartments, Terrace Apartments, Lakeside and Green Community West.

In total there are 1,555 townhouses, villas, bungalows, and apartments in Green Community. By mid 2017 another 226 units will be added alongside the existing Green Community West, construction having started in July 2015.

There are five schools in Dubai Investments Park: Al Nibras Private School, Al Worood International Private Academy School, Greenfield Community School, The Children’s Garden kindergarten, and Dovecote Green Primary School.

Pros and cons
Large apartment, big balcony, quiet neighborhood, big parks
Ridiculous entry/exit, half-covered parking, lack of guest parking, small gym
I actually like living here and you can't argue with the beautiful surroundings, but when I look at it objectively there are quite a few cons to the pros: Very nice swimming pool area, but tiny gym with only a few machines. Parking space is covered, but not entirely and with a more… material that let's rain and dust through. (So when it rains and everyone else has a free car wash we receive an even dirtier car.) Maintenance response is quick, but they charge you for everything. Connectivity to the city would be good, however getting out of the community is simply crazy. You either have to risk junctions that are hazardous to cross with uncontrolled traffic from two directions, or you have to make a detour and still and up at the huge Green Community roundabout, which has a 50/50 chance of standstill at any given time. Away from the concrete jungle
The greenery, neighbors and the peace and quiet.
Lack of places of interests and activities
In my opinion Green Community at DIP is a great place to live in, I find that the air is much cleaner and of course there is no noise pollution. However it could do with some water features or lake to picnic during the weekends and there is also lack more… of places which has activities for the families. A place where kids and adults could hang out on the weekends like a mini theme park would be perfect.Show less

Green Community townhouse
Community life, great for families with children
Traffic to come into the Green Community DIP and to go out, Management
Our townhouse in the Green Community is lovely but most of them need to have kitchen and bathrooms refurbished. The park is a great place for families with children and pets. The major problem at the moment is to come in and out of the Green Community.

Far out but worth it!
The quietness
Not so central
I didn't want to move to the Green Community but now I am living here I love it! It's only 40 dirhams in taxi to the marina however if I want a break from city life I can have it int he comforts of my home and its surroundings. It's more… peaceful, I have all that I need within walking distance - shops, restaurants, salons and even a watering hole! People get put off by the roundabout but you just need to be a smart driver and know the routes to avoid it! Show less

A real community
Oasis feeling / nature
Location
This area comes with a true community feeling. Having their own Facebook Ladies Page the Green Community will help you out in any way they can. Additionally it is a real oasis with many trees, bushes and grass areas. It is an amazing place for kids to grow up in more… and generally a very recommendable place to live. The only down point would be, that it is a little way off the beaten track and it takes about 20 minutes to reach downtown (without traffic).Show less

Luxury Villas Green Community
Green Spaces and Community Vibe
Traffic and Lack off Public Transport System
This is a great place to live, besides the horrific traffic 24/7. Community is lovely and their are plenty of local events all the time. swimming facility are great although the gym lacks. The poor public transport is a downside (bus takes forever to get to IBN Battuta and theirs more… no metro link to GC) Thursday and Friday nights are a little wild everyone throwing parties that sometimes overflow into the streets and takeaway outlets, but that's part of the community feel. Kids need controlling a bit as some are rude and out of control but all in all a great community to live in. Show less

A lot noisier than expected
The greenery
The lack of soudproofing
We moved to this area with the purpose of getting closer to nature and away from constructions. It does have a beautiful green park and plenty of place where you can go for a walk, ideal for pet lovers and for kids. Majority of the people who live there more… have kids and I would only recommend moving there if you have your own. We have 6 children on our level and unfortunately the soundproofing of walls, windows and doors is very poor, so it feels like we live in a circus all day and during the night. The mosque is very close to the Southwest Apartments and it is audible in the flats, so ideal for those who find it important to be close to a mosque. The gym is quite poor, there is no option to control the AC so you either freeze or there is no air. Some machines are broken since we moved in 6 months ago. The pool is very nice and it's very well kept. The finishing is reasonable but there is one feature of the flat that is a bit puzzling: there is a 50l water tank in the bathrooms and int he kitchen too. A 50l tank is sufficient for a kitchen but not enough for more than half of a bathtub of water and you can only upgrade it on your own cost to an 80l version. Don't expect the landlord or the developer to pay for it! Maintenance is NOT FREE but Serve U is contracted by the developer. They only work but during working hours (unless it's an emergency) which makes it difficult to get anything done. The technicians generally do not speak a word of English so if anything goes wrong, you always need a supervisor to come. Within a 5 minute driving distance you have schools, nurseries and plenty of shops around. The flats come with no kitchen appliances as a standard. The traffic may seem scary but actually is only bad if you work in DIP not for the opposite traffic if you live there. So in the morning it is generally 10 minutes to get to Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (old Emirates Road) and the same on the way home. Show less

A Green Retreat
The greenery, the beautiful buildings, and the great people
The solar street lights don
Green Community with its beautiful landscaping is like an oasis in the harsh desert. With chirping birds and the sounds of happy children, it is indeed a welcoming place where you can escape the cares of a busy city life. The lush greenery, water features and the endless lawns make more… you never want to leave.Show less

Great location for families with children
Lots of greenery, large spaces
Small gym, small backyard
We moved to this 3 bedroom townhouse from a DIFC apartment, because we were blown away by the huge greenery and peacefulness of Green Community. We still love that we can actually walk here, as there is a huge park and lake, plus a community centre with some restaurants and more… a supermarket, from where we can actually walk home with our groceries. The townhouse itself has a nice family-dining area downstairs, which is large enough to have quite some friends over. The kitchen is also quite big, and can be closed. Upstairs there is a large master bedroom with walk-in closet and big bathroom, and two smaller bedrooms with their own bathrooms. I think the backyard is a too small for the size of the house, for example you can't have a proper barbecue party outside. The open pool area is really nice and very close to our townhouse, so we spend some time there almost every weekend. However the gym I found really small and not good quality at all, in comparison to the other amenities of this community. Many of our friends were shocked that we moved here, because they thought it is too far from the city. It's true it takes at least 20 minutes to get to Mall of the Emirates for example, but there are no traffic lights and heavy traffic on the way, so at the end you might get there faster then from Marina or other busy areas. I would strongly recommend Green Community to families with younger kids, as there are always lots of children playing around, it is safe for them, and even a townhouse like ours can easily accommodate a family with 2-3 children.Show less
