Expo Village is a new, mixed-use development at the Expo 2020 site, designated as the event’s official residential community that will accommodate participants during the Expo. Eventually it will become part of the expo’s legacy precinct. It occupies a strategic location, close to and with easy access to Dubai’s fastest-growing commercial corridors. It was scheduled to be completed by April 2018.
The Expo Village is located next to the Expo site and alongside the Dubai Metro Red Line extension to which it is connected. The Village comprises 11 clusters of mid- to high-rise apartment buildings, each having podium parking. There is also a range of retail outlets and community amenities, including a school, day-care centre and a healthcare facility. The project has been designed within a Building Information Modelling (BIM) framework so as to achieve LEED Gold certification and is being delivered in two phases.
From Expo Village it takes roughly 30 minutes to drive to Dubai Mall, 23 minutes to Palm Jumeirah, 27 minutes to Burj Al Arab and 24 minutes to The Walk JBR.
Dubai International Airport (DXB) is roughly 36 minutes' drive and the new Al Maktoum International Airport is roughly 20 minutes' drive. All durations are calculated by Google Maps and assume the fastest route in typical traffic conditions.
