The Dubai Conference Centre (Arena) development is to be located in Al Jaddaf and covers an area of 55,000 square meters facing Dubai Festival City. The project was announced in May 2016 and is to be developed at a cost of AED 1.8 billion by the Dubai Municipality working with Dubai Holding.
A huge conference hall, named Sheikh Rashid Hall, will be able to cater for 10,000 people. With a height of 30m and an area of 190,000 square feet it will have theatre-style seating suitable for international conferences, seminars, meetings, music concerts and theatrical shows.
The hall is divided into three levels and is accompanied by five sub-conference or multi-purpose halls with a total area of 10,500 square feet. Each hall can accommodate up to 1,000 persons.
The main hall and the sub-halls will be linked to the hotel buildings and offices by the Concourse Building, an air-conditioned glass boulevard flanked by shops and restaurants. It will be 25 metres high, 150 metres long, and have an area of 50,000 square feet.
The conference facilities will be augmented by a 33-storey 3-Star hotel, a 48-storey 4-Star hotel, and a 36-storey office building. There will be commercial units at ground level and basement parking for 1,800 cars.
