Additional information

The 1,347 square metre DIFC Grand Mosque takes the form of a cube within a cube, designed to reflect the Gate Building at the opposite end of the Financial District.
Whilst the exterior is a simple cubist form, the interior is more elaborate and features a large chandelier inspired by the traditional Muqarnas.
The outer facade uses a hanging mashrabiya screen made up of geometric Islamic patterns with openings of varying sizes which provides both shade and privacy.
The mosque has a capacity of 500 worshippers and is accessible 24hrs from the street via lifts and escalators.
