Al Safa Overview

Al Safa is a mainly residential community in Dubai located between Umm Suqeim 1 and Sheikh Zayed Road. The area is well established and home to many Emirati families as well as ex-pats. The buildings are all low-rise and include expensive villas and some royal residences as well as shops and restaurants.

The area contains many popular schools including Jumeirah College, Jumeirah Primary School, Jumeirah English Speaking School, Al Ittihad Private School, Emirates English Speaking School, English College Primary & Secondary and many nursery schools.

In Al Wasl, just north of Al Safa, lies Safa Park. This was created in 1975 on the site of what had been a ‘plywood city’ shanty town, home to thousands of illegal, but tolerated, immigrant workers from India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Today it is one of the most beautiful open spaces in Dubai.

In 2013, the Dubai Water Canal project was unveiled showing that it would cut through Safa Park on its way towards the sea at Jumeirah. Four years later the canal opened and work began on landscaping the damaged parts of the park. An estimated 30 percent of the park has been lost to the waterway, but the new canal and its waterside promenades have added a new dimension to Safa Park, which is some compensation for its loss of green space.

Al Hala Complex
The villa layout, neighbors and area
None
We shifted to Dubai in March 2014 and from all the various villas we saw, this was the best. The villa layout is well planned with friendly neighbors from different countries, mostly western. The swimming pool is not that big but again the surrounding looks amazing, sort of like a more… mini resort. The kids come out in afternoon and play making it lively and mornings the bird chirping. The rooms are spacious and the master bedroom balcony gives a good view. The gym facility is good for the community of 16 villas but recreation services can be better. Park n Shop is a 5 minute walk and Oasis Center, Spinneys and Union Cooperative are 5 minutes drive. Jumeirah Primary School is just opposite. Overall the area is great and the villa makes a great home.Show less

Amazing
Location
Sheikh Zayed Road noise!
I love this studio. It is next to Sheikh Zayed Road so I dont have to worry about any traffic. Even if there's traffic I can see it from my window. :) My neighbors are great, gym is great, parking is great. I live 5 min away from Mall of more… Emirates, 10 min away from Dubai mall so everything is nice. :) Show less

Lovin Life
Swimming pool, shops, peace.
Traffic.
Living in Jumeirah/Al Safa is one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had in my life. The area is sooo residential, with all amenities closeby. Neighboring Safa Park and a library. Superb transport facilities and excellent schools, this area is ideal for families. It is more… a peaceful haven to come back to after a busy day at work and there is always somewhere to have coffee on a lazy weekend. With a swimming pool in my back garden and plenty of parking space I consider myself very lucky indeed. Beauty salons are a plenty - with a strip of them available on the famous Al Wasl Rd. Overall, a beautiful, tranquil, picturesque and highly convenient place to live.Show less

Wasl Square
Location, noise level and maintenance
No free guest parking and small garden
Wasl Square is very family friendly community. It enjoys excellent location with easy access to Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road and Wasl street. Its location in the front of Safa Park is an added value where you can enjoy nice walking with very nice view. It is surrounded with more… whatever you think of from banks to restaurants, from pharmacies to flower shops. All are less than 5 minutes walking. I don't think I'll go someplace else as I miss nothing here. Show less

Jumeira 3, good place for living
Proximity to the sea
The fixtures a bit old
Jumeira 3 is a very nice area. Close to the beach, to the park, to the shops and to the main reference sites of the town. There is not so much traffic, it is quiet and nice. In the winter time is very enjoyable walk to the beach or more… to the park. We sincerely recommend this area of Dubai.Show less

Al Safa 4 bedrooms
Very central
Not easily accessible
Its an excellent area, but not accessible by anything. For the longest time the closest grocery was the union co-op. There is no easy access to public transport. You require a car for everything. Initially the area in front of the house was empty giving us a decent view of the highway, more… now they have built a huge complex right in front which has increased traffic as well. Show less

Living in Al Safa 1 area - Jumeirah district
Peaceful and quiet area
-
I moved to this area less than a year ago. It's one of my favorite areas in Dubai. Very quiet and peaceful environment which suits families very well. Nearby primary school (GEMS Jumeirah Primary School) and College (Jumeirah College). It's a great place to live...
