Afnan District Overview

Afnan District is the first phase of Deyaar's Midtown development and was launched at the 2014 Cityscape Global event.  It was offered to prospective investors in September 2015.

Afnan is a master planned scheme containing a built-up area of 5 million square feet on 1.2 million square feet of land. It consists of a cluster of seven residential buildings ranging in height from seven to 17 floors surrounded by landscaped gardens.

The blocks will contain 659 apartments (132 studios, 374 one-bed, 143 two-bed and 10 three-bed apartments) ranging in size from 40 to 189 square metres and will be suitable for middle-income families.

The developer says that ‘the neighbourhood is set to create a green and aesthetically pleasing environment by incorporating 400,000 square feet of landscaped terrain’.

Afnan District will benefit from new infrastructure developments like Dubai Metro connectivity and proximity to City Centre Me’aisem, a multi-utility mall in Dubai Production City.

Construction Updates

Construction of Afnan district was due to begin on site by the end of 2015 with a completion date of September 2018.

Masterplan

The entire Midtown development contains 27 different towers to be complete by the end of 2020. It has been broken up into six districts, five residential and containing a total of 2,500 apartments, and one hospitality district. There will also be a one kilometre retail promenade running through the site.

Hyder has been appointed as lead consultant for the project and U+A Architects as designer.
